Unmothered (2019) is a zine about the grief of losing a mother.
The term unmothered was originally coined by Megan O’Rourke, but I first encountered it in Ruth Margalit’s New Yorker story of the same name.
I'm very honored and excited to donate all proceeds (minus shipping costs) to Every Mother Counts this Mother's Day. Amongst other benefits, Every Mother Counts helps women access quality pregnancy and childbirth resources in countries (like our own) where complications related to pregnancy and birth are killing hundreds of thousands of women globally per year. It's something like 1 woman dies every 2 minutes from complications like these. Not to mention the death rate is exponentially higher for women of color than for white women.
Conceptualized and designed by Emma Olswing. Some designs inspired by Tessa Forest
Zine is a full-color 4.25” x 11” printed booklet staple-bound and shipped standard USPS.
